2010 National Spearfishing Championships Results

 

After 6 yrs of waiting, I finally got my wish. Competing in the USA nationals with the infamous McGuire brothers, Glen and Mike. Mike and I are on the Churchill trophy already, from our win in 2007, but I never thought I would get the chance to have Glen onboard again.  Click here for the full results and the rest of the story..

Dan, Harold and Paul showed how its done once again, taking champion team in the 2010 PCC’s at Pico creek! Dan took individual champion to make it 4 time consecutive wins for the young gun! Scouting and A LOT of paddling, think about 5 miles each way, paid off for him and Harold. Conditions were just about perfect, with fairly flat seas, light winds, and decent vis. Lots of fish with some huge reds coming into the beach, as well as plenty of big goats, olives, and usual suspects. Paul Romanowski took 3rd, while his girlfriend and team mate threw up all day on her kayak! We had some new divers this year, Kavi, David, Chris Cornett, Sean Gallagher, and womens national champion Anne Doherty came out to join Rene Rojas and myself to make up the team. BUT, we couldn’t catch Dans team, so had to settle for second place. Thanks to all who showed up, and especially Janis for all her help on the beach, sign in, weigh in, clean up, etc!!!! Next time Edlunds says he’s running the show, he better show up!!!!!! I’m not diving all day, running weigh in and clean up again!

Next year, its GLACD, so we’ll see what happens with it, I’m voting for a no scout meet!!!!!
